City of London Police's first yearly review found that reported losses from hacked personal accounts in the UK jumped to roughly £6.3 million in the twelve months to the end of March, compared with about £1.2 million the previous year. Police attribute the sharp rise partly to a new reporting mechanism that surfaced cases previously going uncounted.
