European parliament members call for slowdown of Serbia’s EU entry over spyware use

Members of the European Parliament are urging that Serbia's progress toward EU membership be held back because of the country's reported use of surveillance software. The push comes after reports that student activists in Serbia had their phones compromised with Pegasus and a tool known as NoviSpy. The demand adds to other political pressure being applied to the Serbian government.
